Mark Allen Felton
A Chicago native, saxophonist extraordinaire, Mark Allen Felton aka Panther drew upon a wealth of influences from Jazz to Gospel. At the tender age of 11, he began an artistic journey inspired by such musical greats as Grover Washington Jr., Earth Wind & Fire, Sonny Stitt and Kool & the Gang. By the time he graduated from high school, Felton had received numerous awards for his musical excellence, including a scholarship to Texas Southern University in Houston, TX.
Felton has had the honor of playing on and sharing the stage with some of the most revered artists and musicians in the world of smooth jazz and R&B. His stage presence and musical execution makes him a crowd favorite wherever he goes. Felton, has headlined (soldout shows) at some of the top venues domestically and internationally, including (The BlueNote - NY, Hawaii, China, Napa), The Billboard Live (Japan), The City Winery's, and numerous festivals etc.
A prolific composer, Mark Allen Felton has written several hundred songs, including the theme song for the nationally syndicated radio program “Radioscope”, the theme song for famed comedian Michael Colyar’s HBO comedy special, and recently his music can be heard on The Martin (Lawrence) Reunion BET special.
His compositions can also be heard in independent films, as well as on his five previously released CDs: On The Prowl, Gospel Stroll, A Blessing, I Do It For Love, & Soul Real, which produced two chart topping singles, “A Place For You and Could It Be?”on the Smooth Jazz Billboard and Smooth Jazz Top 100 charts.
